Description

Mission

Drive sustainable growth across channels, customers, and product portfolios by delivering commercial targets related to sales, profitability, and market share. Lead best-in-class execution at the point of sale to enhance customer and consumer experience while improving executional performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Route-to-Market

  • Develop and implement commercial and route-to-market strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives across multiple channels.
  • Review and optimize distributor, wholesaler, and partner network structures to improve market coverage and effectiveness.
  • Identify growth opportunities through market analysis, customer insights, and competitive assessments.

Market & Business Analysis

  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to understand customer behavior, industry trends, and commercial opportunities.
  • Utilize sales and market data to support strategic decision-making and business planning.

Organizational Development

  • Design and evolve organizational structures to improve operational efficiency, team effectiveness, and long-term scalability.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and strategic business partners.
  • Drive long-term collaboration with both direct and indirect customers to support sustainable business growth.

Sales Leadership & Deployment

  • Lead the execution and deployment of sales objectives across the commercial organization.
  • Ensure alignment of sales priorities, resource allocation, and performance targets across teams and regions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial team through strong leadership, clear objectives, and talent development initiatives.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Commercial Planning & Execution

  • Partner with Marketing and Commercial Planning teams to develop annual business plans tailored to customer groups, channels, and regions.
  • Drive execution of commercial initiatives and customer agreements to maximize revenue growth and return on investment.

Trading & Commercial Accountability

  • Own commercial terms and negotiations with customers and partners to ensure sustainable profitability and business growth.
  • Monitor commercial performance and optimize investment effectiveness across accounts and channels.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Track, analyze, and report key business KPIs to evaluate commercial effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, business updates, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all commercial activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in commercial leadership, sales strategy, or channel management within a multinational environment.
  • Strong experience managing distributor and key account relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams.
  • Fluent Japanese and business-level English preferred.
